Company DescriptionMUST be authorized to work in the United States for any employer.MUST be available to start working within 3 weeks of offer acceptance date.SEGULA TECHNOLOGIES is assisting a major automotive OEM in hiring a Field Service Engineer to join our growing team in Grain Valley, MO.This is a DIRECT hire opportunity, NOT a Contractual role.Our client offers a competitive salary and benefits plan including comprehensive relocation package, and great opportunities for career growthJob DescriptionProvide technical instruction and assistance both over the phone and in person to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, calibration, repair, and maintenance of railroad equipment installed at customer sites.Perform on-site installation and maintenance of railroad signaling equipment and systems including equipment initialization, calibration, setup, verification, and repair.Troubleshoot railroad signaling systems using a broad base understanding of railroad signaling products and engineering principles.Respond to requests for emergency troubleshooting and issue resolution needs for railroad customers.Maintain knowledge of applicable product line warranties and bulletins and effectively advise customers regarding the same.Plan, prepare and/or execute both internal and external training programs as required to impart and perpetuate field service engineering and/or product knowledge.Develop and further expand technical knowledge and expertise on railroad signaling equipment and engineering principles.Perform administrative functions such as: write technical reports, order materials, secure quotations, prepare status and trip reports, book travel arrangements, ship material, track time allocation, manage expense accounts, and organize group networks and tools.Operate call systems used for tracking customer calls and record pertinent information efficiently and thoroughly.Provide leadership and technical direction to skilled labor performing work on customer sites.Maintain strong safety mindset to assure the executed work reflects the technical and safety requirements within all customer safety standards.QualificationsBachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college or a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum 4 years of experience in a related roleAbility and willingness to travel up to 60% of the timeAbility and willingness to maintain a valid driver's license. Desired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering is preferred.Strong business acumen.Strong networking experience.Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.Strong customer service mindset.Prior field engineering experience.Prior Wayside Signaling experience.Prior Railroad experience.Prior project management experience and demonstrated project management skills.Strong organizational skills.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.Additional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
