The APP functions primarily in the clinic managing the neurological needs of the identified population and may also work closely with the outpatient cardiology testing groups like EMG, MRI, etc. The APP is generally on a service aligned team and manages the care of the outpatient with the team.In some instances, the APP may have responsibilities for this same patient population in the consultative inpatient setting or serves as a resource for the inpatient care team.
