SUMMARY:

Lead supplier warranty parts root cause investigations to ensure correct warranty liability rate is assigned.
Reviews supplier's assembly and offers improvement suggestions; works with suppliers to eliminate repetitive quality concerns and establish permanent countermeasures; rates suppliers based on response to quality issues.
May support other areas within WGA, including warranty service investigation. Leads special projects to achieve organizational objectives or new initiatives, including directing other engineers or cross-functional teams.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
  • Analyzing data on warranty claims to understand what parts and suppliers may need investigation. Some operational work - order/analyze parts -pick it up, disassemble the part, work with the technicians to put part on the vehicle to evaluate, work with entities within Nissan - purchasing - to understand what agreements are in place with the supplier, what are they liable for.
  • Investigates root cause of supplier warranty thru parts investigation, analyzes parts incident rates for warranty liability, and negotiates warranty liability rate with supplier.
  • Communicates with suppliers, dealers and Nissan affiliates, as needed, to propose and implement countermeasures for quality and field concerns, related to supplier warranty.
  • Will require having difficult conversations with Suppliers. Strong technical and verbal skills
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline (Engineering, Supply Chain Management/Logistics, Industrial Technology or Engineering Technology, Etc.)
  • Minimum of 1 year of professional experience post grad - no new grads. This is a new role with a lot of growth potential.
  • In-depth understanding of automotive technology, product knowledge, product quality, related information systems, and related legal processes.
    Basic understanding of vehicle design, development, parts return process, supplier quality responsibilities and processes.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and problem solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of quality control assessment such as statistical process control. Ability to understand part, sub-assembly or system dimensional layouts.
  • Thorough computer knowledge; Excel is required, will be using web based applications, also need strong PowerPoint skills.
  • Familiarity with warranty systems such as CPIA and WRAPs is a plus.
  • 50% travel within the US and Mexico to supplier; will travel with managers
  • Data is in very sophisticated dashboards in Tableau, Python to create coding - more web based, but they need to be able to use Excel. A lot of regression modeling, utilizing big data.
  • They have to use PowerPoint - this is used a lot.
