Summary
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for the procurement of goods and services required for the production, service, and install processes. Accurately and in a timely manner, entering information into the ERP system (Infor) to ensure projects are completed on time.
Success Criteria & Measurement
Performs all work in a timely manner as designated by Project Managers
Accurately completes orders and paperwork
Consistently communicates lead times to requestors
Works with limited supervision
Maintains professional conduct at all times, particularly when interacting with vendors, customers, and other employees
Responsibilities
Identify and select suppliers who provide the required goods and services at the best price and quality; negotiate with suppliers to get the best possible price and lead time to ensure that the procurement process is efficient and cost-effective
Help with the oversight of inventory to ensure that production or installation is not disrupted due to shortages; communicating with production, service, and install teams to ensure that materials are available when needed
Build strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure that they understand the company's needs and expectations; monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues that arise
As needed, assist in drafting, negotiating, and managing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure that the company's interests are protected
Analyze the cost of goods and services and develop strategies to reduce costs without compromising quality or delivery times
Ensure that all procurement activities comply with company policies, legal regulations, and ethical standards
Continuously evaluate the procurement process and identify areas for improvement to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and increase customer satisfaction
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or related field preferred
7+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems and other procurement software
Detail-oriented, and possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
