Summary The Procurement Buyer/Planner has the primary responsibility of ensuring material availability to support the sales forecast and/or any other departmental needs or requirements. Other responsibilities include managing inventory levels, supporting material/product level revisions, interacting/coordinating with suppliers on a variety of topics, and supporting other business functions as required. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and maintain effective relationships with vendors and supplier Understand and maintain the minimum necessary raw materials and finished goods inventory and report on the status of inventory levels against inventory targets Report on a regular basis to various sources on project progress Support cost estimate and quotation process on all product needed Maintain and review of supplier performance including vendor reviews, to include on time performance, quality issues, communication effectiveness, and process improvement Place purchase orders with suppliers for the procurement of production material as required by forecast and the production schedule.
