Description

  1. Attending daily staff meetings to report on patients who are leaving and arriving.
  2. Greeting new patients upon arrival and introducing them to staff members and other patients.
  3. Reviewing the rules, policies, and guidelines with each new patient.
  4. Escorting new patients to their assigned room.
  5. Issuing new patients their admission folder, schedules, initial study materials, and books.
  6. Logging all medication brought to treatment by new patients, storing medication for self-administration in the medical clinic, and explaining procedure in full to the patient.
  7. Properly enforcing all Ranch rules and policies and reporting any infraction of rules and policies to the patient's counselor, Clinical Director and the Clinical Supervisor.
  8. Responsibility for collecting keys, money and other valuables from patients for storage in the office safe.
  9. Assisting other House Managers in preparation and introduction of films/lectures for the evening program. Checking to see that all patients are in attendance.
  10. Demonstrating a functional understanding of all clinic and Detox procedures, always contacting the Medical Director or a member of management when needed.
  11. Maintaining the cleanliness of the facility at all times.
  12. Giving appropriate attention to any patient who may be ill. Reporting any illness to the Lead House Manager, the Clinical Director or Clinical Supervisor.
  13. The House Manager is not to act in the capacity of counselor, but will be available to answer questions and talk with any patient as needed.
  14. Helping initiate participation in evening activities such as bingo, sing-a-long, films, tapes, and any other special program approved by the Clinical Director.
  15. Informing unauthorized visitors of our visitation policy and politely asking them to abide by the policy.
  16. Making periodic checks of total facilities to see that patients and facilities are in order. Reporting in writing all infractions of the rules and policies to the patient's counselor, Clinical Director, and the Clinical Supervisor.
  17. Checking to see that lights are on in the hallways at all times and that the fire exits are lighted. Inspecting all areas and reporting any safety hazards to the Executive Director and /or the Clinical Director.
  18. Providing transportation to and from Yakima and other locations for patients at the request of the Clinical Director or Clinical Supervisor.
  19. Assisting in any area where needed.
  20. Advising management if personal growth needs and/or expectations appear to be unrecognized.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises patients when other staff is not present.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute percent, elapsed time, and interpret simple graphs and charts.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, staff and families. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all Sundown M Ranch requirements and polices of the governing Board of Directors.
