Key Responsibilities:

  • Month-End Close:
  • Lead the month-end close process, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and adjustments.
  • Perform detailed account reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Ensure all month-end financial reporting deadlines are met.
  • Audit Support:
  • Coordinate and manage external audit processes, including the preparation of audit schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation to support financial statements and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to address audit findings and recommendations.
  • Review and analyze all accrual accounts to ensure they are accurate and complete.
  • Collaborate with various departments to gather information for proper accruals.
  • Monitor and adjust accruals as needed to reflect accurate financial reporting.
  • Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Provide variance analysis and explanations for significant fluctuations in financial statements.
  • Develop and enforce internal control procedures to enhance financial integrity and compliance.
  • Identify areas for process improvements and implement best practices in accounting operations.
  • Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions and strategic initiatives.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to management based on financial data.
  • Mentorship and Training:
  • Mentor and support junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and educational work environment.
  • Provide training on accounting procedures and software as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior accounting role.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly.
