Job Description

  • Experience Required: 3 to 5 years
  • Experience Desired: Retail, Retail Grocery, Category Management, Business Analytics, Data Science, or Statistics; Proficiency in advanced data analysis tools and programming languages, such as SQL, Python, R, or similar platforms; Demonstrated expertise in statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and machine learning techniques, with the ability to apply analytical methodologies to solve complex business problems.
  • Education Desired: Bachelors Degree

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with Merchandising to develop and execute comprehensive category strategic plans that align with business objectives.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of sales data, market trends, competitive landscape, and customer preferences to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to prioritize investment opportunities, develop go-to market strategies, and optimize assortment, pricing, and promotional activities.
  • Leverage a variety of data sources and analytics tools for streamlined data analysis and visualization, enhancing efficiency and enabling quick insights generation.
  • Employ advanced data analytics techniques, including machine learning algorithms, clustering, and regression analysis, to extract actionable insights from large and complex datasets.
  • Utilize predictive modeling to forecast sales trends, identify patterns in customer behavior, and anticipate shifts in market demand within product categories.
  • Implement data visualization techniques to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders and drive informed decision-making.
  • Foster strong partnerships with Merchandising, Vendor Partnerships and Strategy, Space, and Finance teams to ensure alignment and execution of category strategies across the organization.
  • Communicate data-driven insights effectively to stakeholders at all levels, influencing decision-making and driving consensus on strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop integrated business plans to drive revenue growth, enhance customer satisfaction, and achieve business objectives.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process optimization and automation within category management processes, leveraging advanced analytical tools and techniques to drive operational efficiency and scalability.
  • Stay ahead of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and analytical methodologies, continuously enhancing analytical capabilities and driving innovation within the category management function.
  • Mentor and coach junior analysts, providing guidance on analytical techniques, strategic thinking, and business acumen.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture, promoting knowledge sharing, cross-training, and professional development opportunities.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating a passion for data-driven decision-making, strategic thinking, and continuous learning, inspiring team members to excel and grow in their roles.
