Communication & Content Specialist

The Communication and Content Specialist will lead PACE Southeast Michigan's communication efforts and create engaging content that resonates with our target audience. This role will be responsible for helping create and execute a communication strategy that builds awareness and increases engagement among our employees, stakeholders, and the community at large to grow the organization. This role will also be responsible for creating and distributing high-quality content that informs, educates, and inspires our target audience.

Key Responsibilities:

•Assist in developing and implementing a comprehensive communication strategy that promotes our organization's mission and values to various stakeholders, including participants, families, healthcare professionals, and donors.

•Works closely with the Marketing Coordinator to develop copy associated with marketing deliverables to increase enrollment and awareness of PACE Southeast Michigan. This includes scripting and copywriting for TV production, radio, print, social media, billboards, and all media platforms.

•Develop and maintain website content.

•Collaborate with our healthcare team to create patient-centered, health literate content that educates and empowers older adults to make informed decisions about their health.

•Write news releases and develop and maintain relationships with media outlets and journalists to secure earned media coverage and increase our organization's visibility.

•Measure the effectiveness of our communication efforts and adjust strategies as needed based on data-driven insights.

•Provide guidance and support to other team members in communication-related activities.

•Focus on special projects, such as longform publications including an annual report, quarterly participant newsletters, bi-annual town hall scripting, executive messaging, and other items as assigned.

•Write copy and scripts for internal and external communications, including weekly phone calls.

•Provide editorial support to grant writing to ensure PACE Southeast Michigan is accurately represented.

•Writes and coordinates delivery of messages to elected officials and other government officers.

•Searches for and applies for awards for PACE Southeast Michigan employees and actions.

•Support all internal and external events that relate to PACE Southeast Michigan branding, communications, and philanthropy.

Qualifications:

Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

•Minimum Bachelor's degree with emphasis on writing; preferably in journalism, communications, marketing, public administration, public health, political science, or related field.

•Minimum of two years' experience with content writing including reports, marketing copy, C-level scripts, newsletters, press releases, etc.

•Exemplary written and verbal communication skills with significant experience in relationship management.

•Experience of responding to competing deadlines and managing multiple tasks and priorities within a fast-paced working environment, both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative manner.

•Highly organized.

•Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite, social media platforms, and websites.

•Experience and knowledge of local media.
