We buy, sell and deliver fresh, high quality protein products and other foods to over 6,000 retail and foodservice customers.
Position Overview:
The Collections Supervisor is responsible for leading collections teams, setting goals, reducing past dues, resolving difficult or highly sensitive receivables problems, managing payment and settlement options while maintaining customer goodwill. This position collaborates closely with credit and cash application department and the Sales team.
Key Responsibilities
Job duties may include:
Lead, coach and develop collections team for Sherwood Detroit operations
Review aging reports to identify past due accounts, monitor account balances and credit limits
Document all collection activities in the database
Communicate any issues withtheSales team to ensure prompt payment of invoices
Review short payment/returns with sales representatives
Resolve any issues causing non-payment
Review and release(if appropriate)customer orders that are held due to credit issues
Send invoicecopies,statements, etc.,to customersas needed
Review credit filesas neededand consult withNationalCredit Manager on high level issues
Perform and complete other job duties, tasks and projects as assigned
Qualifications & Experience
The Collections Supervisor position requires an individual must be able to perform each essential job function assigned satisfactorily. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities:
High school diploma or GED
5-10 years or more ofsupervisory experience in corporate credit and collections
Advanced skills and experience with Microsoft Office Tools (primarily Microsoft Wordand Excel)
Experiences in cash application, credit and accounting is a plus
Ability to prepare accurate, effective complete and easily understood reports and other forms of written communication
Ability to be flexible, adaptable and organize prioritize multiple duties
Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills
Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus
