The Asset Management Analyst assists in the management of a portfolio of structured commercial real estate loans collateralized primarily by hotels located throughout the United States. The candidate will also provide a high level of loan surveillance support by monitoring and reporting on property level cash flows and other loan metrics.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Day to day management of assigned loans, including communication with borrowers and senior management
  • Develop recommendations for and process of loan resolutions and borrower consent requests including workouts, modifications, forbearances and title transfers
  • Prepare approval memoranda for internal and external stakeholders
  • Analyze property financials and assist in tracking of property/loan performance to eb included in internal analyses and external investor communication
  • As applicable, communicate with sponsors/borrowers for updates on any property-or loan level concerns
  • Prepare and submit periodic loan portfolio updates identifying all relevant issues, discussions and events
  • Monitor and report on loan specific covenants, events and triggers
  • Actively manage debt investments and associated credit facilities, loan participants, rating agencies, and investors
  • Other activities as may be assigned
Qualifications/ Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree; preferred field of study: real estate, finance/accounting, business
  • Minimum five years of experience in commercial real estate and debt or equity asset management including overseeing non-performing loans
  • Hotel-specific knowledge and experience strongly preferred
  • Proficient with common CRE calculations and concepts: IRR's, NPV, DSCR's, DY, NOI/NCF
  • Basic knowledge of complex debt positions (senior and mezzanine debt, warehouse and repo lines)
  • Ability to create and manipulate financial models in Excel or similar programs
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment managing multiple tasks under tight deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, Power Point and Word
