Job Description

Under the supervision of the Executive Team, the Marketing Manager is responsible for leading the development and execution of marketing and sales strategies, in elevating the public profile and influence of the Management Group with key stakeholders, partners, and audiences. This position will have two direct reports that work within the marketing department.

Efforts include development and execution of brand strategy, strategic communications plans, sales strategy and execution, messaging development and management, inclusive of multiple platforms; media relations and strategy; marketing program development and execution.

Duties And Responsibilities

Assist in the development and implementation of brand guidelines. Develop marketing and sales strategies to increase awareness of the programs, increase participation in events, and ensure proper branding related to all activities. Develop and oversee all aspects of marketing and communications planning including developing key messages and talking points; identifying key target audiences and channels (traditional and social media, blog, marketing, etc.), and then managing implementation of plans, including a monthly newsletter(s). Build strong working relationships internally and externally to promote an integrated marketing, sales, and communications strategy for all the products and brands. Oversee preparation of press releases, media alerts, electronic messages and talking points for the programming and events (local, regional, and national). Manage website review and updates (internally and in conjunction with outside agency). Manage outside firms (i.e. - Sales Agency, Website Design / Development, Graphic Design, etc.) Develop strong relationships and maintain primary responsibility for all communications/public relations plans and strategies to support all our initiatives. Oversee externally facing and thought-leadership work for executive-level staff. Develop and execute a partnership sales strategy to drive revenue and sponsorship opportunities from outside partners.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business or a related field. 5+ years' experience. PR agency and event management experience a plus. Proven experience with strategic planning, messaging strategy, corporate communications, sales, public relations, brand development, content development, writing, web and social media, project management, presentation development, vendor/agency management and budget management. Outstanding written communication skills including experience preparing press releases, news articles, and promotional pieces. Outstanding verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Analytics, social media platforms, email client platforms, Salesforce (or equivalent CRM experience) is a plus. Passionate about the mission of the Management Group and a personal interest in sports-based youth development. Demonstrated ability and willingness to be a team-player in a fast-paced work environment.
