Summary:

The Senior Portfolio Analyst is responsible for supporting the Asset Manager by identifying and mitigating the credit, financial, operational, physical and market risks impacting the collateral of the Servicing Portfolio. The senior portfolio analyst will implement day-to-day risk management activities by working directly with all team members, as well as borrowers, guarantors, local, state, and federal government housing agencies, developers, owners, managers, and other industry groups.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Perform ongoing Construction asset management and surveillance activities to identify and monitor risk.
  • Review Construction Draw Requests and Construction Monitoring Reports to ensure proper documentation has been received and make recommendation for Investor approval. Review reserve withdrawals to reimburse Borrowers for eligible expenditures and recommend approvals to Management.
  • Assist with tracking and monitoring of required compliance items to track borrowers' progress in fulfilling their post-closing responsibilities such as immediate repairs, third party tests, and timely financial reporting. All internal systems used in tracking and storing related information to be updated.
  • Monitor and track receipt of monthly/quarterly financials as well as the review, spread and analysis of property financial data on loans assigned to the Asset Manager as well as own portfolio and include as part of a quarterly/annual assessment to the lender.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all stakeholders by promptly and accurately responding to submitted questions and information requests.
  • Analyze financial performance of borrower, guarantors, key principals, and other stakeholders.
  • On a small portfolio of loans, perform ongoing asset management and surveillance activities to identify, monitor, rate and mitigate the financial, credit, operational, physical, ownership and market risks impacting the properties collateralizing the portfolio, as assigned. Seek guidance from Lender Leads when necessary.
  • Foster good working relationships with other internal teams.
  • Monitor and track receipt of monthly/quarterly financials.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in real estate asset / portfolio management, finance, or mortgage servicing.
  • Undergraduate business degree in general accounting, banking, finance, or real estate is preferred.
  • Commercial real estate background desirable.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet tight deadlines, coordinate, and communicate effectively and cultivate new and existing relationships.
  • Good analytical, oral, and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Self-starter able to work independently.
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse environment.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Creative and flexible approach to problem solving and organizational challenges.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products
