Summary:

The Commercial Loan Assistant (CLA) provides quality and timely support to one or more Commercial Relationship Manager (CRM) with servicing of their commercial loan portfolio in accordance with commercial guidelines. The majority (60%) of the time is spent providing support to CRM and members. CLA will provide credit, sales and servicing support for the commercial banking team and provide a consistent and superior client experience. This position will include working with the sales, credit and operation teams to support data gathering, business member relationship management and other servicing requests. This position will be a primary point of contact for internal CommunityAmerica partners to coordinate member account needs and will have significant interaction with our business members via customer service support. The CLA serves as the liaison between commercial members and credit and back office support teams.

This position will be responsible for working with relationship managers and their clients to ensure necessary information and documentation for credit analysis and loan closings is received and complete. The CLA will support the relationship manager sales activities including the development of presentation materials, coordination of sales calls with internal partners, maintaining prospect lists, and updating Salesforce with account plans, call notes, pipeline tracking and contact information. This person will be the liaison and work closely with the commercial operations team for preparing loans for closing and servicing of client accounts including resolving documentation exception issues, receiving updated financial statements where appropriate, and reviewing reports for maturing and past due loans for necessary follow-up with the client. The CLA is the liaison between sales team and Credit department as the gatekeeper of data to get opportunities into credit for processing. In addition, the CLA serves as the liaison between the CRM and Operations to ensure corporate entity information, and related loan documentation, including but not limited to title search/commitments, UCC searches, and flood determinations for all loans to prepare for loan closings. Additional support includes a variety of office support functions as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Support commercial members by solving complex questions to ensure superior service and member experience
  • Act as a central resource for branch and member service inquiries to Commercial Banking.
  • Support a team of CRMs in obtaining corporate entity information, and related loan documentation, including but not limited to, title search/commitments, UCC searches, and flood determination act as the liaison between Sales and Loan Operations.
  • Support team of CRMs in documentation for credit packets, as gatekeeper, to move the opportunity into credit for processing act as the liaison between Sales and Credit.Support and manage the monitoring of construction draws, spreading budgets, scheduling 3rd party inspections on all properties under construction, and working with Ops in funding of the draw requests.
  • Serve as the primary contact for loan portfolio issues and provide support to colleagues.
  • Maintain current and accurate client interactions and pipelines in Salesforce.
  • Support team in account originations, documentation, file maintenance and account maintenance.
  • Manage and coordinate all tickler reporting/tracking for the CRMs.
  • Coordinate materials for client presentations, proposals, setting up sales calls and maintaining prospect lists.
  • Work with the commercial operations team for account servicing; including resolving documentation exceptions, reviewing maturing loans and general tickler items.
  • Provide general administrative and sales support to the commercial banking team.
  • Prepare department sales activity reports, including call activity and pipelines.
  • Promote honest and open communication throughout the credit union.
  • Demonstrate behaviors that are consistent with the credit unions values, philosophies, and leadership characteristics.
  • Supports the commercial team in ordering branch supplies, when needed.
  • Manage internal branch referrals for commercial team through the CRM system.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • College degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience and knowledge in commercial banking

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong attention to detail and organization.
  • Interpersonal skills essential for interacting with credit union staff at all levels of the organization as well as business members.
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in operational procedures related to servicing and monitoring of commercial accounts.
  • Ability to resolve interpersonal conflict and miscommunications.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word applications preferred
  • Knowledge of CRM systems, Salesforce preferred
