CHIEF CREDIT OFFICER The Chief Credit Officer (CCO) oversees and manages Ireland Bank’s lending functions and loan portfolio including directing Ireland Bank’s lending strategy, overseeing the loan operations, loan documentation, lending analysis, and underwriting functions. The CCO is responsible for the research and development of products, policies, procedures, and underwriting guidelines related to the lending functions of Ireland Bank. The CCO must also ensure compliance with Ireland Bank’s policies, procedures, underwriting guidelines as well as applicable state and federal banking regulations in all lending activities. The CCO leads, coaches, develops, and manages the different lending departments to meet customer expectations, retain and grow the loan portfolio, mitigate credit risk, and improve overall credit and loan production needed to meet the bank's strategic objectives. The CCO sets the standards and expectations of teamwork, mutual respect, and consistency. The CCO is a part of the executive management team and must be able to collaborate with other members of executive management to develop overlapping policies, procedures, and underwriting guidelines. Teamwork and collaboration will not only be at the executive level but is required in all interactions with other departments and branches throughout the bank. The CCO’s direct reports include Loan Officers, Loan Documentation and Support Manager, Loan Compliance, Special Assets, and Loan Review. KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE PREFERENCES: Bachelor’s Degree and 10 years of progressive experience managing credit administration or loan operations. Demonstrated board reporting and presentation experience. Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Current knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems. Current knowledge of all applicable federal and state financial regulations. Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports and statements. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes while simultaneously managing several projects. Ability to facilitate group meetings. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Strong independent thinking skills. This position requires specialized knowledge of financial data management. WORKING CONDITIONS: This position requires long periods of sitting in front of a computer. This position requires regular work and travel outside of normal business hours within Ireland Bank’s market area.
