Place Services, Inc. has an immediate need for a Commercial Construction Estimator to be based out of our Canton, GA office location.

The Estimator will assist with estimating the cost of completing and bidding on various projects.

What You’ll Do:

  • Bid takeoff and proposal preparation
  • Following up on sub-contractor questions, concerns
  • Solicit subcontractor and/or supplier information and pricing
  • Assist Estimator with instructions to bidders, bid form and other bid solicitation information
  • Assist in the quantity survey and pricing effort for internal budget
  • Assist estimator in conceptual budgets based on minimal information
  • Review general conditions, schedule, scopes of work, hoisting plans, site logistics and other exhibits
  • Ensure the flow of project information is maintained and documented
  • Assist in the review and scoping of specialty contractor bids
  • Assist in maintaining and communicate data on construction and material cost trends affecting project costs
  • Build effective relationships with customers, design teams, specialty contractors, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support company core values and meets or exceeds the customers expectations
  • Actively participate in industry, client and community relations to enhance company image
  • Participate in the transfer of information on successful projects
  • Assist in the preparation and review of work plans as requested
  • Proactively addresses issues with creativity and discretion
  • Review bid scope & details with PSI Project Manager – upon award of project

What You Bring:

  • Knowledge of all aspects of commercial construction projects
  • 1-3 years of prior estimating experience in the commercial construction industry primarily estimating for ground up, tenant buildout and remodel projects.
  • Proficient in estimating software including/electronic takeoff/measurement skills such as: Bluebeam, Plan swift, Pro Est, Excel
  • Read and understand project plans, specifications and other construction documents
  • Familiar with a variety of the fields concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate to all levels of field personnel, employees, management, subcontractors, suppliers, architects, engineers and owners
  • Ability to successfully manage and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
