Duties and Responsibilities

Support delivering against the strategic objectives of the function.

Working with the eDDA team to ensure the right technology is in place to recover, store, and analyze electronically stored information in response to requests for use in external litigation or internal investigations.

Building and managing relationships with key stakeholders and colleagues across company.

Business

Build and maintain an effective and constructive relationship with all key business and functional stakeholders that is based on trust, capability, and integrity, providing timely, responsive, and quality support.

Deliver the Legal functions of Investigation and Legal eDiscovery matters.

Maintain and develop relationships with all key functional stakeholders, ensuring that the Legal functions requirements are aligned with the wider bank policy.

Providing timely advice to Legal colleagues on aspects of relevant legal discovery and disclosure frameworks.

Support the Head of eDiscovery Operations & Analytics, in ensuring the function remains aligned with the relevant Risk Management Framework

Work with external service providers to execute time-sensitive managed document reviews.

Support the development and growth of the function by acting as a trusted and experienced mentor.

Processes

Responsible for the adherence and development of eDiscovery risk controls, ensuring the defensibility of all phases of the eDiscovery lifecycle.

Assist colleagues in the development of proportionate Legal data review methodologies by providing expert solutions and defensible recommendations.

Execute data collection from the bank's systems in a quality-controlled and documented manner.

Provide specialist data minimization techniques that ensure eDiscovery matters are managed cost-effectively.

Ensuring the functions of eDiscovery practice are carried out by all legal and regulatory requirements.

Responsible for the technical management and utilization of eDiscovery technology solutions (e.g. Relativity) and providing training to other members of the function when required.

Supporting the Head of eDiscovery, Operations & Analytics, in collation of MI, ensuring relevant management information and key performance indicators are provided to all key internal stakeholders.

Risk Management

Apply all relevant Group, Country, Business, or Functional policies and procedures to manage risks.

Undertake periodic self-assessments on key controls to assess the proper functioning and adequacy of existing controls.

Governance

Act to minimize operational loss, and audit failures, and take proactive measures to respond to matters arising.

In the event of serious regulatory breaches, or where risk tolerances have been breached, ensure senior management are informed and that actions are taken quickly to remediate and/or activities are ceased.

Regulatory & Business Conduct

Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, and the Group Code of Conduct.

Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate, and resolve risk, conduct, and compliance matters.

Education and Experience:

Qualified to a degree level or demonstratable experience in industry.

Minimum of 5-6 years' experience in an eDiscovery / Legal role.

Significant experience with eDiscovery platforms such as Relativity, Nuix (Ringtail), or Axelerate.

Demonstrable experience in managing third-party stakeholders (including external counsel, technology vendors, and data subjects).

Significant experience in independently managing large Legal or Investigation eDiscovery matters.

Experience working with Legal / Enterprise Technologies is advantageous.

Demonstrable experience in being able to work independently and collaborate with team members globally.
