ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

As a member of the Product Marketing team, the Technical Product Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing and executing both an outbound and inbound product and technical marketing plan to grow Wind River as a global leader in embedded systems and intelligent edge industries. You will focus on translating and articulating the Wind River product features and capabilities into customer value propositions for customers in the Automotive industry. You will develop unique value propositions and compelling content based on the products' technical capabilities. You will need to leverage your understanding in domains such as embedded systems software, software development, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and cloud-native software development to deliver Automotive marketing content for key Wind River programs. This position requires significant collaboration with other contributors in the marketing, sales, alliances, and product management teams, within Wind River and our parent company - Aptiv. You must be able to influence, motivate and lead key stakeholders and cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate is an experienced, senior-level, professional with prior experience in the Automotive industry and working experience in product marketing or product management, with a passion for communicating solutions, to complex customer problems, that drive business outcomes.

This position will focus on technical product marketing of Wind River products to the Automotive industry but may involve some work in adjacent markets such as industrial and medical markets.

Key Accountabilities & Expectations

  • Build compelling technical marketing content that translates product features to customer value and helps maintain Wind River's position as a technical leader in the intelligent edge market and aligns with Wind River product and marketing strategies.
  • Research the key players, trends, motivations, needs and challenges of the Automotive industry.
  • Be able to define and communicate key software capabilities, benefits, and value to customers in the Automotive Industry.
  • Create positioning and messaging for products targeting multiple industry specific use cases and personas.
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional teams on specific initiatives and create formal networks.
  • Create sales enablement and training content for Automotive focused sales teams.
  • Develop close alignment with key stakeholders, particularly with senior product management, marketing, technology office, engineering, and field application engineers.
  • Collaborate with other marketing team members on planning and implementing marketing strategies.
  • Partner with sales, product management, corporate marketing, alliances, and other leadership teams.
  • Ensure technical product marketing initiatives and communications are consistent with corporate strategy, including the value proposition of the products and communicating them to internal and external audiences.
  • Measure and report back to senior management on the performance of technical marketing initiatives, including assessment against goals and insights gained.
ABOUT YOU

Core Competencies & Demonstrated Success
  • 14+ years of experience in product marketing, product management or engineering in the software industry (preferably embedded software).
  • Mastery of the terminology, trends, motivations, and challenges of the Automotive industry.
  • Strong understanding of the embedded industry ecosystems, standards bodies, and certification requirements.
  • Passion for and expertise with embedded software products such as RTOS, virtualization, and embedded software tools.
  • Familiar with functional safety certification and security standards for the Aerospace industry.
  • Vertical market experience related to Automotive industries desirable.
  • Strong technical writing skills to aid in building technical content.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to implement and execute on significant and unique issues across customers.
  • Must be able to concisely communicate and write both short and long-form product and solution collateral.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to influence senior leaders in a highly matrixed organization across Engineering, Sales, and Marketing.
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking, including experience working with and leading research.
  • Demonstrated credibility with customers, partners, and cross functional stakeholders with the ability to create formal networks and to represent the Marketing organization.
Education

•Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing or Sales related field.

•MBA or equivalent preferred.

Compensation

The annual base salary range for this role's listed grade level is currently $141,700 to $185,000 plus a bonus for Colorado, New York, and New Jersey residents, and $166,600 to $220,000 plus a bonus for SF Bay Area, Greater Seattle, NYC, and Washington, DC, residents. Salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities of the applicant, and equity with other team members. Employees in this role are also eligible for the following benefits in accordance with the terms of the Company's plans: health, dental, vision insurance, life insurance, flex time off, eligibility to enroll in 401k, and 12 paid holidays.
