Job Description

Prestigious global AM Law 100 law firm is seeking a Practice Assistant to provide administrative support to a group of attorneys who practice Intellectual Property, Litigation and Corporate.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Provide administrative support to the legal secretary team including partners, associates and paralegals in all practice groups within the Austin office; included but not limited to; Intellectual Property, Litigation and Corporate
  • Prepare and submit conflicts checks and open new matters;
  • Draft new business memos
  • Review and edit prebills;
  • Prepare and mail correspondence;
  • Prepare and submit check requests;
  • Submit invoices for payment, prepare cover letters and mail;
  • Prepare and submit expense reports;
  • Enter attorney time;
  • Coordinator travel for attorneys;
  • Maintain electronic files;
  • Maintain attorney contacts;
  • Scanning and printing documents
  • Heavy calendaring, maintain calendar for attorneys as needed
  • Maintain incoming and outgoing mail;
  • Prepare documents in Word, Excel and PowerPoint; and,
  • Other clerical tasks and administrative projects as assigned.
Requirements
  • Successful candidate will have two to three years of legal administrative assistance experience, Corporate, Intellectual Property, and Litigation Practice Section experience preferred.
  • Successful candidate will have outstanding client service skills, advanced computer skills, meticulous attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, a proactive work style, and exceptional verbal and written communication abilities. Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Adobe ideal. College degree and large law firm experience preferred.
