Purchasing Manager . This individual will be responsible for identifying the needs for goods and services throughout the organization. Responsibilities:

Validate, confirm, and schedule incoming materials per schedule needs

Manage inventory levels and dollars to meet targeted inventory turns

Plan and negotiate prices for raw materials

Maintain current knowledge of commodity prices, new products and business trends that could affect cost, quality and delivery requirements

Create purchase orders for purchasing a variety of products including raw materials, equipment, tools, phone and other utility services

Manage on time delivery from suppliers providing material forecasting to suppliers

Develop and drive cost reduction strategies with suppliers

Monitor and expedite shipments from various locations to respective sites

Audit and approve invoices

Supervise and give work direction to direct reports

Negotiate and place orders

Maintain vendor files/ Contracts

Requirements:

Bachelors degree or equivalent experience - business, logistics or related field

5 years materials management experience in a manufacturing environment

Proven work experience in a Purchasing or similar role

Experience using MRP/ERP systems required

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Understanding of supply chain procedures

Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office

Flexibility, adaptability, and a process improvement approach
