TSC is seeking a Experienced Mechanical Engineer (III) in Huntsville, AL (Discovery). This position will support the TSC Innovation & Product Cell (IPC)Responsibilities: Works directly with industry partners to collaborate on designing custom payload enclosures, adapters, chassis, bracketry, & cabling to integrate TSC electronics into various host platforms. Works closely with TSC RF & electrical engineering team members providing design guidance for antenna(s) size, weight, and form factor to facilitate proper integration into partner host platforms. Creates bills of materials & drives procurement of prototype parts and assemblies. Works closely with third party custom parts manufacturers to ensure rapid high quality prototype parts fabrication.Candidate will work from TSC's 655 Discovery Drive NW location in Huntsville, AL. Position may require occasional short-term domestic travel for equipment integration, demonstrations, and test events. *Relocation possibleRequired Qualifications: Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) + 5-7 years of experience OR Masters of Mechanical Engineering + 3-5 years of experienceSolid understanding of thermal, structural, and EMI challenges associated with designing electronics for survivability in austere environments.Highly proficient with SolidWorks or equivalent mechanical CAD softwarePreferred Qualifications:Proficient with SolidWorks Simulation FEA & CFD or equivalent structural and/or thermal analysis softwareUnmanned platforms (UAV/USV/UUV) equipment design & integration experienceFamiliarity with transit package design a bonusGood communication skills and intellectual flexibility is essential for success as our challenges, schedules, and deliverables are ever-changing.
