Substitute School Nurse

- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Care and treatment of sick or injured children or staff.
- Administration of routine prescribed medication as directed by physician according to school policy. All medications must be administered by the nurse or appropriately trained clinic back up in the clinic. Medications are not to be administered by teachers or in the classroom.
- Evaluation and screening of students (vision, hearing, dental, scoliosis, Etc.)
- Appropriate storage of all medical equipment, supplies, medications, logs and medical records. these items will be kept in a confidential locked area desgignated by the school nurse.
- Document on all students who visit the clinic. Maintanin a daily log of all clinic visits. Call parents on all students who visit the clinic. Any student who is ill or injured and cannot return to class should be signed out of school per board policy.
- Meet with parents concerning health needs of children.
A completed online application must include the following:
- Completed Liberty County School System online application;
- Two (2) electronic references from previous supervisors; automatically sent to listed references when application is submitted. (Note: one of the references must be from the most recent or current immediate supervisor);
- Copy of valid certificate, diploma(s), transcripts, test reports, and other relevant information (information may be uploaded to online application);
- Resume/CV (optional).
