Corporate Accounting: Carry out month-end and GL accounting, including establishing best practices to ensure that financial transactions are recorded to support GAAP-based financial reporting for a multi-entity environment. This includes: Maintain financial records and workpapers Month-end close including complex bank reconciliation, journal entries, and account reconciliation Budget / prior year to actual variance analysis Review and approve A/P invoices Monitor cash flow for irregular activity or cash needs Process billbacks to entities for shared expenses Review and approve credit card payments and other corporate payments Property Accounting: Month-end review of trial balance and financial statements for all entities / properties; follow up with accounting staff on any issues identified Potentially handle full-cycle accounting for some entities/properties Other Accounting and Compliance duties Serve as GAAP expert and research accounting standards as necessary Provide GAAP guidance on capitalization or expensing of repairs and maintenance expense and fixed assets Facilitate the administration of month-end timeline Administer sales tax filing for assigned entities Facilitate tax returns, audits, and compliance, preparing workpapers for outside tax accountants Support insurance renewal with requested schedules Participate in process improvement activities and training of accounting team members Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred 3+ years of accounting experience, including GL entry and account reconciliation experience Strong technical knowledge of GAAP accounting is required, preferably in a multi-entity environment. Strong use of accounting systems, Excel and technical data management skills. Real estate or property management accounting experience is a plus #J-18808-Ljbffr
