Job Description
Direct, oversee and evaluate all nursing personnel (RN, LVN, CNA, CMA, etc.)
Guide staffing procedures
Set objectives and long-term goals for the nursing department
Organize and coordinate admission, nursing, and patient care procedures
Develop and enforce policies aiming for legal compliance and high-quality standards
Provide direction to all nursing staff members to assure compliance with all State and Federal laws
Prepares for, and manages the State and Federal survey process with the intent to increase the 5 Star level.
Control budgets and monitor expenditures
Resolve issues and deficiencies when needed
Manage record-keeping procedures
Collaborate with other departments and professionals to streamline operations
Report to upper administrator
Requirements
Proven experience as a Director of Nursing Services is preferred but not required
Understanding of basic budgeting and financial reporting
Great knowledge of legal regulations and best practices in healthcare
Working knowledge of all State and Federal compliance standards including the implementation of Phase II Survey compliance.
Willingness to keep abreast of changing standards in nursing administration
Excellent ability to lead and develop personnel
Great communication and people skills
Outstanding organizational and stress management skills
Aptitude in problem-solving
Must have a current and active RN license.
