Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Answers customer's question's concerning location, price, and use of merchandiseService all customers in designated area or phone inquiries quickly, accurately and in a courteous manner. Constantly upgrade product knowledge in your area and of all merchandise locations throughout store. Assist customer by walking them to the proper department and personally finding product. Basic understanding of POS computer system, able to complete customer inquiries, quotes and orders as neededDetermine customers' needs by finding requested product or selling them a related or substitute item. Responsibilities include selling and closing sales on a project-oriented basis by demonstrating products of related items to customer and presenting promotional sales product facts, information and product data. Exhibit the ability to service multiple customers in a friendly, efficient and effective mannerCut lumber, rope, wire, or window shades to specified sizeObtains merchandise requested by customer from shelves, overheads or warehouseMaintain merchandising responsibilities as needed such as re-facing and down stockingEnsure that all product locations have current and appropriate bin labels, back tags, or signage as necessary. Utilize computer system in support of customer service and inventory accuracyStocks shelves, counters or tables with merchandiseHangs price tags for merchandiseCleans shelves, counters and/or tablesEquipment Operation such as but not limited to: pallet jacks, forklifts, order pickers, saws and specialty equipment where neededComplete the required Product Knowledge Self-Study guides for department with a passing scoreFollows instructions, responds to management direction, takes responsibility for own actions, completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate planObserves safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properlyDemonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; looks for ways to improve and promote quality, applies feedback to improve performance and monitors work to ensure qualityMeets productivity standards, completes work in timely manner, strives to increase productivity; works efficiently and quickly.Additional duties as assigned by ManagerPhysical Demands:While performing the duties of this Job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The Team Member is frequently required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The Team Member is occasionally required to walk and climb or balance. The Team Member must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Shifts are available in a multitude of full-time and part-time schedules according to a retail schedule of Sunday - Saturday, between 5:00am-9:00pm to meet business needs.
