We're searching for a Lead Engineer -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will be responsible for responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising assigned activities of the Facilities Operation's Department and services functions which are necessary in maintaining the physical structures, HVAC, mechanical, electrical systems, utilities, and grounds of the hospital in an operative and safe working condition. This position is also responsible for safety training of maintenance personnel in operations and maintenance of all buildings, structures, and equipment.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
•Administers and supervises the predictive and preventive maintenance programs to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the entire hospital, monitoring its application to assure maximum effectiveness and provides appropriate documentation of it.
•Reports daily to the facilities Operation's manager regarding the physical and structural conditions of hospital facilities, plant operations and the status of work in progress.
•Oversee and assist in required daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual required building inspections, testing and institute required corrections and/or preventative maintenance systems and schedules as needed.
•Ensures equipment is maintained and services are performed in accordance with the standards established by the Department, Hospital, federal, state, and local agencies. Ensures all required inspections and certifications by Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
•Participates in the development and applications of standards of quality and productivity for the Facilities Operation's Department.
•Supervises and directs Facilities Operation's personnel in the use of policies, procedures, and standards of work performance for maintenance and repair of equipment, buildings, and associated building systems. Ensures staff work is compliant with all safety codes, building codes and operating process.
•Supervises scheduling of department personnel. Lead Engineer provides coverage and back up coverage to and for the Operating Engineers as needed due to vacancies, vacations, absences, and general workload coverage.
•Assist in the formulation and implementation of the new employee's orientation and the continuing education of department employees in the repair and maintenance of all equipment. Instructs personnel regarding hazards and safety to ensure safe procedures and safe use of equipment.
•Works closely with other departments and administration, negotiates priorities, plans work schedules, and makes job assignments, place orders for materials, supplies and parts. Recommends use of outside specialty contractors, as necessary.
As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, all successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
Skills & Requirements
•Required H.S. Diploma or GED. Preferred associate degree Experience in a facility, healthcare, business management, or other related capacity
•Preferred Licenses/Certifications:
o STATENG1 - Stationary Engineer, 1st Grade State of Texas, and/or local municipality if applicable
o ACR - AC/Refrigeration Contractor by the State of Texas
o Sec 608 Tech Cert-Universal by the Environmental Protection Agency - For the "Sec 608 Tech Cert-Universal" Certificate - We will accept it from any certifying organization listed on the Environmental Protection Agency web page, including the organizations that no longer offer it.
o CHFM - Cert-Cert HC Facility Mgr. by the American Hospital Association
•Required 3 years of Experience in a facilities, healthcare, or business management field
•Preferred 3 years' Experience in a healthcare facility
Note: The work hours - Monday through Friday 12p thru 8pm. There will be a rotation shift for On-call responses for after hour Emergency Calls during the week and weekend. This is part of the responsibility, as well.
