Your work will make an impact and support how our organization serves the best customer – our Military patrons and their families. So, what does a typical day look like? What does it take to succeed? Prepare service work orders for vehicles. Determine estimated cost according to the official price list, issue parts and accessories to mechanics. Counsel customers on automotive service needs and resolve patron service questions and complaints. Assign work orders to appropriate technical associate for action (e.g., tire, battery, brake, electrical work, etc.). Maintain appointment schedules and ensure availability of parts and service technicians at the time of scheduled repair work. Sell automotive parts, supplies, and accessories; assist customers and provide product information. Prepare Special Purchase Order Worksheets for automotive parts based on work order requirements and customer special orders; notify customers upon receipt of parts/accessories. Load and unload merchandise from delivery vehicles; examine merchandise for damage or pilferage; verify type and quantity of merchandise received; notify supervisor of discrepancies and/or deficiencies; keep stockroom area clean and orderly. Assemble merchandise according to requests from main or location automotive retail store; unpack and stock counters and/or shelves in accordance with established instructions and procedures; price stamp merchandise as necessary; participate in conducting periodic inventories. Operate a cash register according to established cash control procedures; responsible for own cash fund; complete daily cash reports and ensure proper balance. Train new associates on operation of cash register as well as proper procedure and protocol relative to the Automotive Center; resolve customer complaints and problems and refer more complicated issues/complaints to supervisor; assist in preparing work schedules; maintain payroll and productivity records as required. Exercise tact, good manners, and courtesy when serving and assisting customers; respond to patron inquiries and assist patrons in a prompt and friendly manner. Work under the general supervision of a designated supervisor carrying out assignments with little review during progress of work; specific instructions are provided on new and unfamiliar situations; completed work is spot checked for adequacy and compliance with existing regulations. Perform other related duties as assigned.
