  • Description

    Tokyo Central is going to open a new store in the Torrance area. We are looking for Store Merchandise Associate who focus on ready-to-eat foods, such as fried chicken, Udon, fried rice, and more. And be responsible for overseeing daily operations Deli. This role is crucial in ensuring product high quality, on-time orders from vendors, food safety, and customer satisfaction.

    - Experienced in overseeing kitchen operations in an Asian food setting, with a deep understanding of both the techniques and underlying principles. Skilled in ensuring efficiency, quality, and team collaboration.
    - Approach every situation with a YES attitude. Have or be willing to learn how to have the necessary confidence, commitment, and motivation to move team members and self towards success.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned):
    • Keeping the store clean and neat is the essential responsibility for all Marukai employees.
    • Provide friendly and helpful customer service if you are encounter with customers in the store.
    • Support the department leader on budget management for Deli, and ensure the maximum profitability with great customer satisfaction.
    • Communicate effectively with the store management team and HQ Merchandise Perishable department regarding products, orders, inventory, and sales status.
    • Review sales performance and adjust orders and product categories with thorough communication and approval from store management.
    • Assistant department leaders in scheduling staff to achieve labor cost efficiency and productivity goals.
    • Collaborate with HQ Merchandise Perishable department and store management for training, development, and evaluation of Deli team members.
    • Serve as a role model for Deli team members, upholding high standards of professionalism and ethics.
    • Foster open communication and a welcoming work environment among Deli teams, maintaining a drama-free, supportive atmosphere.
    • Prioritize food safety, workplace safety, and customer satisfaction.
    • Multitask calmly and effectively under pressure.
    • Follow the employee handbook at all times, especially on service standards and appearance.
    • At all times, meets and exceeds Tokyo Central store standards in service, quality, and cleanliness.
    • Perform other assigned responsibilities as needed.
Requirements

REQUIREMENTS
  • Able to deliver friendly, courteous, prompt customer service
  • Able to read, write, and do simple math problems
  • Able to interpret, understand and follow instructions
  • Ability to effectively communicate and respond to questions from the general public and management
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management
  • Must be able to operate pallet jack, scissor lift, baler, compactor and scrub machine
  • Possess a food handling license or the ability to acquire one
