Job Description Cash App’s Financial Platform team is responsible for building systems that power products built by Cash App. We build deep integrations with underlying financial infrastructures and ensure that our products are able to scale. About the teams that are hiring in the US & Canada on Financial Platform: Bank Rails: Our Bank Rails team is responsible for developing and supporting platform capabilities that provide banking features like issuing a DDA account, processing ACH transfers, check deposits, wires and others for tens of millions of customers. We develop scalable, reliable and flexible platforms that are able to support both Cash Apps customers as well as Square's sellers to leverage our expertise to provide state of the art services across Block. You will: Design, build and support the core systems used to power the foundation of banking features on Cash App and Square. Refactor and uplift existing systems and build new services. Creatively solve challenging technical problems at scale. Partner closely with product managers, data scientists, product engineers, and business leads to define our roadmap. Have autonomy to research and achieve outcomes with support when you need it. Contribute to the growth of our development capabilities through leading, mentoring and supporting fellow engineers. Qualifications You have: 8+ years of experience delivering quality software. Natural curiosity to learn new technologies, solve interesting problems and build quality software. Desire to find flaws in a system with many moving parts and take whatever steps are necessary to fix them. Desire to perform and grow as an engineer. Technical initiative and leadership on previous projects. Technologies we use and teach: Java, Kotlin, Go. Kubernetes, AWS. Jaeger, Prometheus, SignalFx. JUnit. Hibernate, Guice, GRPC. Additional Information Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. Zone A: USD $198,000 - USD $297,000 Zone B: USD $188,100 - USD $282,100 Zone C: USD $178,200 - USD $267,400 Zone D: USD $168,300 - USD $252,500 To find a location’s zone designation, please refer to this resource.
