The Field Service Engineer works collaboratively with experienced service Engineers and the AMS, Production, Manufacturing, and Engineering staff to successfully assemble, setup, checkout, install, and service Delkor machines.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSWork under the supervision of the AMS Technical Support Manager and/or designated experienced Engineer to install equipment and conversions in customer's facilities. Engineer will start to make trips independently when skillsets progress.Assist in the placement of equipment on plant production floor.Assist in the mechanical and electrical reassembling of equipment.Assist with installation of new or redesigned machine components.Assist in testing all component parts of the machine and running of test production runs.Assist in monitoring plant production to maximize line efficiencies.Assist in training plant personnel on how to operate and maintain equipment.Complete service reports and exit interviews with the customer.Assist in follow-up with customers and internal contacts as needed.Work under the supervision of the Service Manager and/or designated experienced engineer to service machines in customer's facilities. Engineer will start to make trips independently when skillsets progress.Assist with providing service/PM/Audits/Optimizations to customers with Delkor equipment. This includes any documentation provided to customer.Assist customers on machine or operational related issues; make recommendations as needed.Assist with observing the machine in operation making recommendations for changes and/or upgrades.Assist in training plant personnel on how to operate and maintain equipment.Complete service reports and exit interviews with the customer.Assist in follow-up with customers and internal contacts as needed.Work under the supervision of the Machine Checkout Team Leader and/or experienced engineer to perform checkout of Delkor equipment. Engineer will start to perform checkouts independently as skillsets progress.Assist in the power up and setup of equipment.Download, edit, and troubleshoot programs to PLC's and HMI'sAssist with the setup and test running of all products for the customer which includes FAT's.Assist with the troubleshooting process during the checkout of the equipment to ensure final product for customer meets design and performance expectations.Work with the Checkout Team Lead and Production Manager to verify the machine shipment is complete with all components and manuals.Document checkout and re-work time accordingly.Work with the Production Manager and Assembly Team Leads and/or experienced machine builders to assist with the assembly of machines. Engineer can assemble equipment independently or in a group at this level.Perform Mechanical and Electrical sub and final assembly.Document assembly and re-work time accordingly.Work with entire assembly floor team to ensure that the assembly floor area remains well organized and free of clutter.Report any machine or plant safety and or quality concerns to the Production Manager or VP of Operations.Assist in identifying equipment or labor cost reduction and improvement ideas.Work with customers over the telephone to resolve issues when requiredPerform other tasks or duties as assigned.Education and ExperienceTwo-year Automated Systems and Robotics or related degree.Familiarity with assembly and check-out of packaging or related types of equipment. This technician should be familiar with packaging equipment and have the skillsets to assemble, and checkout Delkor standard product lines.Familiarity in using various types of pneumatic and electrical tools including air tools, grinders, band saw, sanders, lifting and moving devises, saws, drills and assortments of hand tools.Technical Skills and AbilitiesBasic knowledge of electricity. Understands Ohm's law and basic principles of electric circuits.
