The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to report to our Director of Strategic Finance for the purposes of analyzing economic and financial data, portfolio company financial reporting, and complex financial analyses related to company valuations, mergers and acquisitions, budgeting, and cash flow models. This position offers the opportunity to be part of a fast-paced, growth-oriented company where work performed will directly contribute to key business decisions.

Responsibilities:

The roles and responsibilities of the desired candidate are to provide information to our finance & business stakeholders, as well as play a key role in growing the strategic finance group. This includes:

  • Supporting the Director of Finance and ultimately the Chief Financial Officer of Meriton with an analytical framework for key business decisions
  • Assisting in the preparation and presentation of financial reports and financial presentations to senior management, the Board of Directors, and Meriton members
  • Conducting detailed financial analysis and complex financial modeling to support the companys strategic initiatives, including valuations, capital planning, budgeting, and forecasting efforts
  • Performing in-depth analysis of monthly financial data, evaluating KPIs and business metrics, identifying trends, and providing recommendations to business leaders and senior management that drive process improvement initiatives that will positively impact business performance
  • Performing in-depth analyses of HVAC and construction industry data to support strategic decision making and capital planning initiatives
  • Participating in due diligence processes for potential mergers and acquisitions
  • Tracking monthly bookings data and collaborating with cross-functional teams to predict future cash collection cycle for the Meriton portfolio companies
  • Assisting in the preparation of ASC 805 analyses for financial reporting purposes
  • Establishing a working relationship with business partners to provide counsel and analysis to assist meeting established financial goals
  • Other special projects and ad hoc reporting
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors or masters degree in finance, economics, accounting, engineering, mathematics or similar field
  • 3-5 years proven experience in financial analyst role, valuation, investment banking, or underwriting
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Understands the concept and application of discounted cash flow analysis
  • Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality
  • Naturally curious and have a strong desire to develop analytical and predictive models to support business needs and make informed decisions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with portfolio company leaders, business unit controllers, and peers
  • Not required, but professional certifications related to finance (CFA, CPA, CMA, ASA) can be advantageous
  • Experience with Power BI recommended
