Student Employee - Library Assistant at Findlay Campus Library

Job Description:

** This position is open exclusively to current Students at Owens Community College who are eligible for Student Employment and / or Federal Work-Study.

Assist Librarians in routine daily tasks such as greeting patrons, check-out/in resources, interlibrary lending, answering telephone, and answering general information questions.

Minimum level of education needed to satisfactorily perform duties: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Essential Functions:

•Provide staffing for the circulation desk

•Greet visitors and answer telephones

•Answer questions and provide information

•Check materials in and out for library users

•Shelve materials in all areas of the library

•Read shelves periodically to maintain order

•Assist with circulation duties

•Assist Librarians with projects

Additional Information:

Library Assistants may rotate periodic shifts in addition to their regular shifts. Candidates should be available to work some evenings until 8:00 p.m. and some Saturdays between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
