Casa Serena is a residential substance use, mental health, trauma and eating disorder treatment center for women only. We are currently looking to add creative, compassionate and innovative individuals to the team in the position of CNA

Availability

Full Time, Monday - Friday

Primary Purpose and Function

The CNA is responsible for executing all medical operations within the detox, residential, and outpatient program.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • In coordination with the Healthcare Manager, perform Medical compliance assessments for new admissions
  • Ensure forms are signed within the compliance window by the appropriate staff member(s)
  • Perform withdrawal assessments for clients at the detox level of care
  • Assist detox clients with all medical and physical needs
  • Enter new medications and medication changes in EMR
  • Act as pharmacy liaison
  • medication refills and new prescriptions
  • ensure clients do not run out of medication
  • ensure all prescriptions are sent in and medications for clients are retrieved at the appropriate times
  • Perform vitals check daily on all clients
  • Ensure client chart has appropriate OTC's and PRN's prescribed
  • Ensure medication room is appropriately stocked, cleaned, and documentation is continuously updated
  • Provide medication education to all clients
  • Complete weekly and monthly compliance forms as directed by the Healthcare Manager
  • Ensure Joint Commission and DHCS compliance within the medical department
  • Perform medical pieces of clients' discharge process
  • Other duties as assigned by the Healthcare Manager
Requirements

  4. Electronic Medical Records
  5. Knowledge of HIPAA Requirements, TJC and other licensing bodies
  6. Ability to communicate clearly, both in writing and verbally.
  7. Possess a professional demeanor and a collaborative spirit.
  8. Have a general understanding and/or training in cultural diversity issues.

Preferred Qualifications
  • CNA license required.
  • One year of medical assistance experience preferred.
  • Experience in a behavioral health treatment facility preferred.
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record and insurable by our insurance carrier.
