We are seeking a skilled Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at a residential facility in Santa Barbara. The ideal candidate will have a state-certified nursing assistant certification and a nursing degree from a recognized CNA program.
Responsibilities:- Provide outstanding patient care and physical support for patients and residents on a daily basis.
- Answer patient calls and determine the best course of action to assist them.
- Assist patients or residents with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, and using the toilet.
- Turn and reposition bedridden patients to prevent pressure sores.
- Ensure patients or residents receive an appropriate diet by reviewing their dietary restrictions, food allergies, and preferences.
- Obtain information from physicians, caregivers, and nurses about patient conditions, treatment plans, and suggested activities.
- Measure and record food and liquid intake and urinary and fecal output, and report changes to medical or nursing staff.
- Record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rate as requested by staff.
- Examine patients to detect issues requiring medical care, including open wounds, bruises, or blood in the urine.
- Remind patients to take medications and nutritional supplements.
- Document observations of patient behavior, including complaints or physical symptoms to nurses.
- Stay up to date on CNA training and facility policy and procedure.
- Minimum 6 months experience in a hospital, care facility, or clinic.
- State Certified Nursing Assistant Certification.
- Current CPR (American Heart Association) certification.
- Nursing degree from a CNA program.
- Ability to think and work independently and with direction, and communicate with staff members in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
- Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Current identification.
- Comfortable using a computer.
- Excellent personal hygiene.
- Medical insurance
