As an

Accounting Manager

, you are

responsible for supporting the Products Controller in the preparation and overall integrity of the the company's BP financial statements and related management reports. This position will provide direction, coaching, and development to members of the accounting team. The Accounting Manager will partner with Building Products senior leadership to provide financial guidance and direction, ensure internal controls are in place to safeguard company assets, and drive consistent performance and best practices. This position will provide an accurate and efficient flow of information between the Accounting Department, Building Products leadership team and the Products Controller.

Primary Responsibilities

Responsible for the internal controls and integrity of the the company's BP financial statements. Support the Products Controller in reviewing statements to ensure no material errors or deviations with generally accepted accounting principles.

Manage a timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process and serve as liaison between corporate accounting department and the manufacturing accounting department. Ensure all monthly and quarterly journal entries are prepared, approved by the Accounting Manager or Products Controller, and posted to the general ledger.

Ensure the timely, accurate and compliant completion of the company's Building Products reports for plant management.

Assist the Products Controller in the development of the yearly financial plan and financial planning for the acquisition of new Manufacturing plants.

Provide guidance to Manufacturing Managers in the management of financial aspects of their business. This includes comparisons of performance to plan and year over year performance related to financial and strategic objectives and fixed expense and asset budgets.

Responsible for ensuring sound financial justification for all plant capital expenditures. Partner with Manufacturing Managers on yearly capital plans and develop review documents for approval by the Products Controller and VP of Manufacturing.

Schedule, maintain control of and manage the reconciliation of the bi-annual physical inventories of the plants. Ensure accuracy, compare results to planned overages, provide a comparative review for the Products Controller, and make recommendations to plant leadership.

Partner with the ASD, Procurement and Homebuilding to identify and manage a streamlined approach to package pricing. The solution should manage the issuance and updating of the company’s price catalogues and provide timely and accurate flow of information on changes to package pricing.

Develop a program to audit and review financial accounts to compare plants, identify underperformers, and make recommendations to improve performance and implement best practices.

Schedule each plant to be audited periodically, to ensure compliance with administrative policies and procedures.

Analyze the effective of market conditions on financial performance and provide accurate pricing for all non-standard external business.

Ensure the administration, guidance and controls of the Dimensions system are accurate and timely, to the company’s manufacturing plants.

Identify and implement technology enhancements and interfaces to allow for easier access to financial information and enhance financial controls and analysis capabilities.

Responsible for coaching, guidance, and employee development for the BP Accounting team.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business field.

Master’s degree and/or CPA preferred

7+ years of business experience in planning, financial analysis, manufacturing accounting or audit

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Exceptional problem analysis, critical thinking, and strategic planning abilities.

Demonstrated proficiency in managing multiple tasks, setting priorities, decision-making, adapting and meeting deadlines

Focus on driving improvements within the organization and ability to persuade and influence others.

Collaboration skills and ability to work well in teams

Ability to coach and develop others to achieve goals and grow in the organization.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel.

Ability to travel to the company’s manufacturing sites
