We are a growing team of professionals seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll/Corporate Accountant. This individual will support the primary accounting functions of payroll and corporate accounting for Cabot Properties ("the Company") in partnership with Human Resources, Corporate Accounting, and the Company's external payroll providers to ensure efficient and compliant business and payroll operations.

Payroll Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for all US based employees, and monthly payroll for our international employees, ensuring accurate and timely payments
  • Collaborate with HR to reconcile employee changes that affect payroll activity
  • Reconcile HRIS payroll general ledger exports to payroll reports for all employment entities
  • Ensure all payroll activities comply with relevant regulations
  • Manage garnishments, levies, and other deductions as required by law
  • Assist with responses to various internal and external stakeholders on questions and issues including budget, the accounting aspects of payroll, liability accounts reconciliation, or other accounting issues
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing employee payroll inquiries promptly and professionally in conjunction with Human Resources
  • Perform annual year-end reporting, including but not limited to processing and issuing annual Domestic W-2's and 1095-C forms, complete annual federal and state ACA filings, and other international payroll tax and regulatory requirements
  • Assist with annual audits of all Corporate entities

Corporate Accounting Responsibilities

  • Administer the Corporate American Express card program with oversight from the Assistant Controller
  • Administer Concur, the travel expense reimbursement software used by the Company, for employee reimbursement
  • Reconcile corporate card transactions to payments, communicating with employees on outstanding charges and submittals
  • Manage reconciliations of all balance sheet payroll/benefit accounts
  • Extract and analyze data in support of critical business objectives or cross-business initiative
  • Perform other duties/projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, HR, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5+ years of accounting and/or payroll process experience
  • MS Office and Advanced excel required
  • Proven knowledge of payroll accounting principles and practices
  • Strong understanding of Domestic federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
  • Foundational knowledge of HR policies and procedures, as well as applicable Federal and State payroll, wage, hour and employment laws/regulations
  • Experience with payroll and expense software (Paylocity / Concur) is a plus
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
