System Administrator Rowan University is seeking an experienced, adaptable System Administrator to join our Infrastructure Services group. In this position, you will be responsible for developing infrastructure integrations for Rowan University’s Information Resources and Technology division. Reporting to the Director of Enterprise System Administration, you will be a member of the team that supports our cloud environment as well as apply your skills to help support the various IT services offered at the university. What you get to do: + Ensure day-to-day effective systems operations; including patches, upgrades, routine automation, security, troubleshooting, and technical support for all users. + Support physical and virtual servers including racking, installing operating systems (ESXi, Windows Linux), and maintenance. Maintenance can include patching, installing software, supporting customers with their systems, and security configurations. + Participate in the design, implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of various infrastructure services at the University. + Support our AWS and Azure/O365 cloud environments. + Analyze infrastructure performance in order to resolve problems or make appropriate recommendations. + Create and maintain technical documentation. + Rapidly deploy approved fixes in response to newly identified security threats. We are looking for people who have: + Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or 4 years equivalent work experience. + The ability to balance long-term projects and strategic initiatives with short-term emergent requests. + Excellent troubleshooting skills. + Commitment to customer service. + Demonstrated ability to set goals and achieve them. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Ability to support a 24/7 environment. Nice to have: + Certifications related to operating systems (Windows or Linux), server hardware, or enterprise storage systems. + Experience supporting VMware and NSX environments. + Experience supporting a hybrid Exchange Online environment. + Experience supporting an Enterprise server environment. + Experience working in a production data center environment. + Experience working with and supporting HPE servers and storage. + Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
