About The Role
The Accountant is part of the Finance & Accounting Team at Precor. This role will oversee the management and monthly processing of our rebate program to key accounts. He/she will also be the lead preparer for our quarterly SOX audit compliance program for revenue. In addition, the Accountant will support month-end close activities, commissions reporting, invoice payments, and contract management. This role will also provide ad hoc analyses for various corporate initiatives.
This position requires accuracy, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of financial concepts and practices to ensure effective management of financial resources and legal compliance. The role will also work cross-functionally with sales, operations, credit, and overseas offices.
An Accountant is a crucial member of any organization, responsible for managing financial records, analyzing financial data, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and a deep understanding of accounting principles.
Responsibilities
Coordinate and assist with both internal and external audits to ensure compliance with all accounting standards and regulations.
Maintain accurate and complete financial records in compliance with accounting laws and company policies
Manage all customer rebates, ensuring timely processing of reports, invoices, and payments, maintaining accurate records and resolving discrepancies.
Provide backup assistance for commission processing, including running, preparing, and maintaining accurate reports.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports that accurately reflect the financial position of the company.
Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and reconciliation of transactions.
Support budgeting and financial forecasting by working with various departments to prepare detailed budgets and financial forecasts.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, resolve discrepancies, and provide recommendations for financial improvement.
Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance financial visibility, control, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
4+ years of proven experience in accounting or a related field
Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Peoplesoft).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
CPA or equivalent
