Their materials are essential to the low-carbon, electrified technologies that power modern life, which you will find in products from electric cars to wind turbines.

The Director of Supply Chain will not only be a key member of the Supply Chain Leadership team but also act as a functional lead for the Site and the main point of contact with the local leadership team. The role will be responsible for all Procurement & Warehouse activities within the facility, including the effective management of all third-party spending across several areas. The primary responsibility will be to optimize spend, minimize supply risk and create value in support of Maintenance, Operations, and Capital Projects. This role reports directly into the SVP Supply Chain which affords the individual a great opportunity for rapid career progression.

Below is a list of the key responsibilities for the role, whilst not exhaustive, that you’ll need to be able to perform.

· Drive the Supply Chain strategy and execution plan.

· Establish effective Supply Chain processes in order to deliver value and optimize Site operating costs.

· Build and nurture effective relationships with senior leadership at the Plant (stakeholders in Operations, Maintenance, and Projects) and with external suppliers and contractors.

· Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, and Corporate Supply Chain teams to review spend and to develop and implement annual sourcing & procurement plans for the Site.

· Lead negotiations and ensure efficient deployment of agreed supply arrangements to deliver step-change in contractor’s productivity and cost competitiveness.

· Drive improvement in the effectiveness and efficiency of transactional procurement and materials management process, including necessary systems and controls, to ensure seamless operation of purchase-to-pay processes and warehouse operations across the Site.

· Act as coach and mentor to the local Supply Chain team to ensure capability development and succession planning, creating a high-performing culture with a continuous improvement mindset.

· Champion Safety within Supply Chain Operations teams, and with contractors supporting the Site, through rigorous sourcing, contracting, and supplier management activities.

To be successful in the role you’ll need to have strong sourcing and contracting skills with an in-depth understanding of the various contract T&Cs, the ability to validate scope, indemnities, liabilities etc, alongside good influencing, negotiation, and analytical skills.

You will need an undergraduate degree in either Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or a related discipline. It’s preferred that you have 10+ years of experience with a minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
