To learn how to apply for a faculty or staff position using the Career worklet, please review this tip sheet.The University of Miami Health System, "UHealth", Information Technology Department has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Epic Senior Analyst - Optime/Anesthesia to work remotely.The Senior Epic Analyst - Anesthesia/OpTime, provides oversight and leadership to Associate Epic Analysts and Epic Analysts on the team, initiates the implementation, build, and modification of the application, collaborates with key stakeholders, end-users, and application team members to optimize the application's configuration, function, and access, and supports junior staff members in day-to-day operations and resolve application issues.Serve as a primary support contact for application end-usersInitiate the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the applicationInitiate all phases of testing and the documentation of workflow designPerform the analysis of information technology in clinical work processes and validate the impacts to the workflowInitiate the identification of issues and guide the work to resolve themSupport junior staff members in the evaluation and resolution of service tickets, identification and implementation of application changes, retrieval of requested data, and execution of day-to-day operationsCollaborate with trainers on application changes and new features to develop documentation and training strategiesWork with stakeholders, business community, and end users to ensure the application meets UHealth's business/clinical needsAttend and participate in applicable committeesAdhere to internal controls and reporting structureParticipate in on-call rotationsMaintain regular communication with team members, including participating in weekly project team meetingsReview the status of projects and issues on an ongoing basis with leadershipBecome knowledgeable about UHealth's policies, procedures, and business operationsDepartment Specific Functions:Travel to the job site during go-lives, conferences, rounding, and/or senior leadership meetings."This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities as necessary.CORE QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's Degree or at least 3 years of relevant work experienceEpic Anesthesia and OpTime Certifications requiredMinimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in healthcare or healthcare-related organizationAt least 3 years of Epic build experiencePrevious operational, project management, and organizational skillsFamiliarity with federal, state, and hospital policies related to anesthesia documentation preferredFamiliarity with scheduling workflows, resource management, and workflows that involve anesthesia staff preferredFamiliarity with how anesthesiologists work with various hospital departments, including but not limited to the operating room, procedural areas, emergency department, and labor and delivery preferredFamiliarity with scheduling workflows and processes for perioperative documentation, case requests, policies for addon cases, and general scheduling permissions preferredFamiliarity with preference cards and their maintenance and case cart and materials management workflows preferredUnderstanding of hospital policies related to the operating room, Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) policies, and The Joint Commission requirements, such as AORN's recommendations and definitions for the times that should be captured during a surgical caseMicrosoft Office Suite: Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, ExcelProblem Solving: Seeking, logically examining, and interpreting information from different sources to determine a problem's cause and developing a course of action to resolve the problem and to prevent its recurrenceDependability: Ability and willingness to take ownership of work activities and ensure that they are completed in an accurate, efficient, and timely mannerCritical Thinking: Ability and willingness to see things in an open-minded way and examine an idea or concept from as many angles as possibleStakeholder Management: Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees including senior leadershipAny relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.#LI-AS1The University of Miami offers competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, tuition remission and more.UHealth-University of Miami Health System, South Florida's only university-based health system, provides leading-edge patient care powered by the ground breaking research and medical education at the Miller School of Medicine.
