SolAero s proven flight heritage, high volume production capability and technology position us to service the worlds most demanding satellite applications. Since 2001, SolAero solar cells or panels have supplied primary power to over 480 successful space missions.**

SolAero Technologies Corp. has an immediate need for a Sr. Planner/Buyer to assist as a **full-time** position.

**In this role you will:**

* Plan, lead, and implement activities related to the timely and cost-effective procurement of direct and indirect materials, capital equipment, utilities, and services.

* Ensure the availability of materials in the supply chain, as scheduled, and the maintenance of inventory at minimum acceptable levels.

* Be responsible for negotiation, contract development, supplier selection and relationship management.

**Your daily activities will consist of:**

* Oversight of the purchasing of services and supplies including machinery, equipment, tools, and raw materials.

* Establishing clear and defined communication paths between purchasing, engineering, and operations teams.

* Executing the organizations strategic procurement goals and objectives by leading negotiation efforts with suppliers.

* Evaluating price trends, new products and manufacturing processes to establish cost reduction targets.

* Monitoring the cost, schedule and performance factors of critical suppliers.

* Setting up cross-functional teams to achieve improvement within the supply chain.

* Identifying supplier non-conformances when they occur and participates in finding the solution to the non-conformance.

* Deploying the Quality Management System as it applies to the scope of work.

* Highly Skilled and Experienced in Strategic Sourcing, Negotiation, and Material Planning.

* Capable of identifying internal and external schedule disconnects, taking action by calling meetings with required functions/personnel to negotiate actions necessary for effective resolution.

* Data driven / results oriented with a high level of initiative and a desire to make a positive impact to the organization.

* Knowledge of and working experience with ERP, inventory control and MRP systems is desirable

* Ability to solve both practical problems and interpret and communicate complex issues

* Detail-oriented, well organized, and able to work both independently and as part of a team

* Strong analytical, computer, and written and verbal communication skills

* Requires excellent time management and prioritization skills to effectively react to and anticipate the needs of the business

* Experience in make-to-order, customer-specialized manufacturing is desirable

* Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional technical procedures, engineering drawings, or government regulations.

* Knowledge of semiconductor devices is a plus.

* Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

* Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and make thoughtful decisions.

**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:**

* Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Management, or related field.

* 8+ years relevant experience, 3+ years of which are directly related to leading a supply chain/logistics department or team.

* Progressive experience in Supply Chain, Operations, or related technical field desired.

* A combination of relative education and experience to the role will be considered.
