SkyGrid, a Boeing SparkCognition Company, exists to open the sky for autonomous flight.Based in Austin, Texas, SkyGrid builds high-assurance third-party services toenable the safe operations and airspace integration of autonomous aircraft. SkyGrid also acts as a key operational nexus for advanced air mobility, integrating and managing data, infrastructure, access, and traffic to support seamless and efficient air traffic services. The SkyGrid team is looking for an Autonomy Engineer to help guide the rapid evaluation of autonomy systems in a simulation environment and develop the future technologies that will ultimately enable UAM operations at scale. This person will be responsible for developing software that will be used in the end-to-end testing of autonomous air traffic management functions from concept to productization. Performance Objectives:

Contribute to the development of the tech maturation plan Will have progressed 2 functions to TRL 2 (conceptual development) and one function to TRL 3 (prototypical) Contribute to the definition of interfaces for the new functions Responsibilities:

The Autonomy team is responsible for rapid evaluation of autonomy systems in a simulation environment, and the development of future technologies that enable UAM operations at scale. Take ownership of defining logical architecture, functional interfaces, determining and validating performance requirements. Be responsible for developing software used in the end-to-end testing of autonomous air traffic management related functions from concept to productization. Collaborate with the systems engineers to understand and inform functional and performance requirements for autonomy-based functions. Work with software engineers to specify and build required simulation infrastructure to support technology maturation needs. Specify and execute experiments needed to validate functions and produce related artifacts. Qualifications:

B.S. in Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, STEM Can define problem statement, conduct state of the art analysis, identifypossible solutions. Deep knowledge of mathematical formulation of vehicle cinematic/dynamics, route planning, optimization algorithms. Significant experience with software development, preferably using C/C++, Python Experience with MATLAB/Simulink Model-Based Design. Familiarity with Cloud technologies (GCP, AWS, Azure) and web services/applications Familiarity with developing and testing in high fidelity SIL and HIL environments. Familiarity with Agile software development, unit Testing and test driven development. Experience with Docker or experience with containerization in general. Solution oriented individual with a strong analytical mindset. Highly self-motivated and ability to analyze problems that are not clearly defined Ability to adapt problem scope to fit timelines Experience building HIL/SIL simulation test environments for validation of complex functions in aerospace or related domains. Familiarity with scaling simulation applications in a cloud environment Located in Austin, TX (Hybrid) Preferred Qualifications:

M.S. or Ph.D in Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, STEM Experience in modeling and simulation in one or more of the following areas: Transportation networks Tactical or strategic conflict detection and resolution for air vehicles Flight Planning Resource optimization
