You will have a unique opportunity to be the business area's Subject Matter Expert (SME) on customer-related matters and the first point of contact for all things related to customers and stakeholders. This role is based at our Warwick, Wokingham office which has free onsite parking, and we continue to offer hybrid working from office and home. About you We do not expect you to have an energy background. Instead, we are seeking individuals with a genuine passion for learning, coupled with natural professional curiosity and an eagerness to understand the actions taken by the control room. In addition, you will need to demonstrate experience of: Building relationships with various stakeholder groups: Ideally within a technical/engineering industry. Using CRM or other collaboration tools: Gather information and track performance. Planning and organizing events: Both online and in-person for the industry. Self-starter: Able to organize and efficiently plan time in a fast-moving environment. Insight analysis experience: Ability to analyse and interpret data, using Power BI or similar Effective communication: Engage with stakeholders inside and outside the organization. Project management experience: Some experience will be advantageous. Qualifications: Educated to degree level (or equivalent relevant experience) What you'll do From day one, you will be involved in delivering value for stakeholders, mainly by: Owning the internal delivery of our customer improvement action plan: Ensure it is managed and tracked to demonstrate how all teams are driving customer improvements. Creating and managing a system to track customer insights and themes: Use this system proactively to improve engagement activities and roadmap developments. Providing weekly data and insights updates: Share these updates at the Leadership Hub and during monthly team meetings. Supporting the delivery of our customer and stakeholder strategy and communications plan: Ensure effective implementation and communication. About us Becoming the National Energy System Operator In Summer of 2024, the ESO will transition to becoming the National Energy System Operator, or NESO for short. Previously denoted as the Future System Operator (or FSO), the new National Energy System Operator will be the independent body responsible for planning Great Britain’s electricity and gas networks and operating the electricity system. The ESO, including all of its existing roles, will be at the heart of the new National Energy System Operator. As NESO, we will build on our existing roles, capabilities, and ways of working significantly to create an organisation the energy system and its users’ need. Our new capabilities will enable us to look across vectors, including electricity, natural gas and hydrogen, and crucially consider the trade-offs between them. The organisation will be set up as a public corporation with its own Board of independent directors, with complete operational independence from government, the regulator and any and all commercial interest. As the ESO are today, NESO will be licenced and regulated by Ofgem through price control agreements and obligated to identify optimal solutions to system operations and planning in the most sustainable, affordable and secure way for all.
