Tecumseh Products Company LLC has an opening for the position of Product Engineer (Ref# PE610CS).

Work Location: 5424 Highway 145 S, Verona, MS 38879. Position requires less than 10% travel to our office in Ann Arbor, MI.

Job Duties: Lead the full-scale development of refrigeration systems focused on customer value, speed to market, and cost optimization. Responsible for product regulatory compliance and agency certifications for North America systems. Responsible for development of new commercial refrigeration products including but not limited to air cooler condensing units, water-cooled condensing units, unit coolers (evaporators), packaged refrigeration systems, direct expansion and secondary loop systems, and fixed-speed and variable speed systems. Provide proper sizing of compressor to meet condensing unit capacity targets. Design heat exchangers for both high-side condenser and low-side evaporators. Select fan motor and blade to ensure reliable operation. Size and select other systems components such as valves, expansion devices, pressure limiting devices, contactors, relays, capacitors, etc. as appropriate for the design specification. Provide layout and design of sheet metal parts to ensure form, fit, and function. Work directly with the CAD team in the development of parts, models, and customer drawings in a timely and efficient manner. Work closely with both the internal supply chain team and external vendors as required to meet timeline, quality, and cost targets. Provide and maintain complete and accurate engineering data to facilitate bill of materials creation, technical data sheets, product attributes, and marketing literature. Responsible for product testing, regulatory compliance, and agency certification. Ensure all products are tested to the applicable test standard for the product category and application. Work directly testing labs to complete necessary testing and documentation. Interpret laboratory test results and compile testing summary outputs. Ensure that applicable products are in compliance with United State Department of Energy (DOE) efficiency regulations in accordance with 10 CFR Part 431 and any subsequent updates. Responsible to ensure all products adhere to all applicable UL Safety and Sanitation standards. Responsible for creation of new UL files or additions to existing UL files for new products. Responsible to maintain and/or update agency listings as required for changes to existing products. Ensure that applicable products are in compliance with current Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) efficiency regulations any subsequent updates. Ensure that applicable products are in compliance with current Norma Oficial Mexicana (NOM) efficiency regulations and any subsequent updates. Serve as the Tecumseh point of contact with UL to expedite services and facilitate quick response to customer demand. Responsible for product sustainment and VAVE (Value Analysis & Value Engineering). Support continuous improvement activities after product launch. Process ECN's as required. Lead VAVE projects as identified and prioritized by the organization. Serve as a subject matter expert for refrigeration systems and assist with customer service, technical service, or manufacturing issues as needed.

Requirements: This position requires a Bachelor's degree or foreign academic equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field. Plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or 5 years in a related occupation including Design Engineer, Development Engineer, Production Supervisor, Engineering Co-Op, or related experience. 40hrs/week.
