What you'll do Working on a hybrid basis between home and 3 days per week at one of our Hub Locations either Bridgwater, Somerset or Pineham, Northampton. Providing analytical support to the Retail and Property teams to help drive the best financial and commercial decisions ensuring delivery of operational results. Driven by reporting to both financial and non-financial stakeholders, that delivers insight, is accurate and consistent and is therefore an enabler for strong performance. Day-to-day Responsibilities: Responsibility: Take responsibility for the production of the key branch performance tool that provides a balance scorecard of metrics to all of the Retail team. Support: Provide analytical support on vital cost control (e.g. Labour hours and costs in branches) metrics to drive efficiency throughout the Retail team and help towards delivery of targets. Assist: Assist The Head of Operational Finance in decision support to the Property team on new branch location analysis as well as portfolio reviews on performance of existing branches. Planning: Plan and manage small scale projects to investigate reasons behind performance variances on either sales or cost metrics. Challenge: Continuously challenge current processes and recommend improvements to all aspects of reporting and analysis. Strive to improve processes and reduce time on data production so analysis becomes the key focus. What you'll bring: Detail oriented: Thorough and accurate on all areas when working on a task. Performs tasks with care; is thorough. Makes few if any errors. Communication: Communicates openly and effectively, ensuring that messages are clear and concise. Adapt content and style to help others understand. Relationship building: Listens actively to the content of what people are saying and responds appropriately. Is aware of own natural style, values individuality and works out how best to apply it. Develops a network of contacts and builds trust. Drive and motivation: Focuses on results and desired outcomes and how best to achieve them. Takes ownership for completing tasks and gets the job done. Analytical: Goes beyond analysing factual information/data to develop a conceptual understanding of the meaning of a range of information. Notices when data appears wrong or incomplete or needs verification recommendations. Problem Solving: Anticipates problems and their impact. Weigh up alternatives and arrives at reasonable decisions.
