Overview

Nakupuna Consulting is looking for a Business Analyst III for the Navy Personnel and Pay (NP2) Project Delivery Team. This is a hybrid position, and the new candidate will be required to come into the Arlington, VA office at least 2 days/week. The Business Analyst III will work as a member of an Agile project team to comprehend, analyze, and synthesize complex technical information; support project management tasks leveraging PMI principles for monitoring and reporting on various phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including Planning, Implementation, Testing, Documentation; analyze business processes and identify opportunities for improvement; create, track and ensure timely delivery of project documentation; build cross-team coalitions; and support change management activities.

Responsibilities

  • Apply PMI Project Management principles for managing, communicating, and reporting on project goals, schedule, scope, risks, and changes for client deliverables.
  • Design, develop, and implement data management strategies and processes that support metrics-driven management and decision-making throughout all areas of the software development lifecycle
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets to create reports and professional documents that communicate project status to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Create beautiful dashboards and charts that communicate technical project information to both internal and external stakeholders to build understanding of key technical concepts.
  • Develop artifacts to communicate status of key performance indicators and provide biweekly program metrics updates to include creation of and updates to PowerPoint slides
  • Produce high-quality deliverables that demonstrate attention to detail, allowing for delivery of documentation with minimal error
  • Conduct continuous process improvement activities to monitor, analyze, and identify opportunities for improvement to data management and program processes managed by the Project Delivery Team
  • Promote and facilitate information sharing and cross-team training
  • Conduct regimented reviews of project artifacts in preparation for release to the client.
  • Use judgement to select the best communication medium to convey content; may include use of graphics, diagrams, charts, etc.
  • Participate in daily team meetings, client meetings, and milestone meetings to maintain ongoing awareness of project status
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills when facing impediments

The following experience is desired:
  • Experience with Project Management principles associated with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), specifically Planning, Implementation, Testing, Documentation
  • Experience with Qlik and/or PowerBI
  • Use of Atlassian Tool Suite (Jira, Confluence, Zephyr)
  • Experience in projects involving direct client delivery
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio)
Clearance: A background investigation at the T3 level is required, as this is not currently a classified position. Must be a U.S. citizen.
