Business Analyst III, Media Systems

The Business Analyst III, Media Systems is a key role within our organization, responsible for helping business partners implement technology solutions in a cost-effective way. This involves determining the requirements of a product, project or program, and communicating them clearly to teams.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of user experience and risk management best practices, as well as experience in business process engineering and information governance. They will also possess a "can-do" style and a demonstrated interest in understanding the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Align technology solutions with business strategies comprised of moderate to complex business processes.
  • Establish a strong, positive relationship with business units and Product Managers to identify and document business requirements.
  • Prioritize business line demands and conduct planning and prioritization meetings with business representatives.
  • Act as a facilitator within all phases of the application lifecycle except development to assist the collective effort of business units towards their objectives.
  • Ensure accurate translation of business requirements into functionality.
  • Collaborate with product or project teams, business partners and IT leaders, and often lead planning efforts related to their work.
  • Manage ambiguity and create accurate project effort estimates.
  • Recognize the implications of business strategy changes and effectively engage project stakeholders.
  • Develop training materials or process documentation; Support and train staff and business partners.
  • Investigate, resolve, and escalate problems and serve as escalation point for others.

Requirements for Success:

  • 7 years' related experience, including:
  • Experience in requirements gathering process for IT systems.
  • Experience in data migration, integration and governance.
  • Experience with MSSQL server, relational databases, and writing simple queries.
  • Experience with reporting, SSRS or Power BI.
  • Experience developing support materials, including SOPs and Help Guides.
  • Experience leading joint application sessions.
  • Experience with tracking risks and changes.
  • Bachelor's degree in technology-related field.
  • Professional in Business Analysis (PBI) preferred.

Skills/Abilities Required:

  • Strong understanding of user experience and risk management best practices.
  • Skilled in business process engineering and information governance.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of at least one software development methodology.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical/complex information both verbally and in writing.
  • Possess a "can-do" style and a demonstrated interest in understanding the business.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple competing priorities and respond to emergency situations effectively.
  • Strong leadership skills coupled with a drive to innovate.
  • Ability to work well both independently and in team, establishing and maintaining cooperation, understanding, trust and credibility.
  • Ability to function and to adapt to new goals, practices, etc. within a dynamic work environment.
  • Proactively stays current in requisite skills within job scope, and incorporates knowledge and other feedback into work.
  • Consistently demonstrates respect for inclusion, diversity, and ethics.
