PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Develop, implement, and maintain safe manufacturing methods to support design and production.Evaluate production impact and manufacturability of engineering designs.Review and provide input on engineering design changes.Evaluate and solve production problems related to mechanized equipment, including troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment.Requires machine maintenance experience on electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment with strong mechanical aptitude.Evaluate the ease of manufacture of a product and labor hours required given specification changes.Responsible for determining root cause of problems, providing containment and determining corrective action in order to prevent production delays or work stoppage.Develop efficient and organized layouts of manufacturing areas.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Justify and implement the purchase of equipment.Work with all departments, customers, and suppliers to perform duties.Because of the changing nature of our business, this job description will inevitably change. The employee will, from time to time, be required to undertake other activities of a similar nature that fall within his/her capabilities as directed by management.KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:BS degree in Engineering Five years of manufacturing experience with strong background in assembly processes and operations and ignition wire harnesses.Familiarity with statistical analysis procedures preferred.Must be able to read and follow schematic drawings and diagrams.Basic machining, assembly, and drafting skills.Product design experience a plusAbility to handle multiple projects simultaneously.Must be computer proficient with Microsoft Office.Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with production staff and management.WORKING CONDITIONS:Working conditions are either in an office environment or a warehouse with a cement floor. Employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. Noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
