Job Title: Day Technician (Direct with Client) Package: between £52k + Private Healthcare, Bonus, Overtime Location: Near Heathrow/ Greater London Position Summary: As a Critical Facilities Day Technician, you'll play a pivotal role in maintaining the site's esteemed reputation with high-profile clients, ensuring 100% uptime and delivering top-notch service. Operating during core hours from 8 am to 4 pm, you'll provide crucial support for Data Centre operations and engineering across the site. Collaborating closely with supervisors, you'll oversee the maintenance of Electrical and Mechanical systems, focusing on both preventative measures and rapid response to issues. Effective communication and coordination skills are essential as you liaise with team members and plan daily activities. Key Responsibilities: Proficiency in utilizing ServiceNow, Zendesk, and other software for managing work assignments and tracking tickets, including training fellow engineers. Supervision of Contractor Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and Service Repairs on Critical Data Centre Systems, along with associated administrative tasks. Execution of Isolation, Earthing, and Reinstatement procedures for Critical Data Centre Electrical and Mechanical equipment when necessary. Interpretation and revision of Data Centre Electrical/Mechanical system drawings. Oversight of confined spaces as applicable. Monitoring and management of Building Management System (BMS) alerts, conducting diagnostic assessments, coordinating repairs, and following escalation procedures as required. Handling customer requests promptly and escalating issues as necessary according to protocol. Operation, inspection, and maintenance of Emergency Power Generation and UPS equipment, ensuring compliance with manufacturers' recommendations and the clients policies. Development and implementation of the site's Safe System of Works to minimize errors and ensure site uptime. Maintenance of HVAP status and relevant qualifications, including frequent switching and provision of out-of-hours support as per customer contracts. Completion of Reactive/Remedial works as per ticketing system on all Critical Equipment and building infrastructure. Availability for shift coverage, including nights, at short notice based on business needs. Accountabilities: Reporting to the Technical Supervisor. No direct management responsibilities. No direct budgetary oversight. Education: Formal training in Electrical or Mechanical disciplines. Familiarity with critical building infrastructure operations. Security Clearance to BPSS level, with potential for SC clearance. Training: Experience as a Building Service Engineer in a critical environment. Strong team collaboration skills. Proficiency in multi-disciplinary engineering tasks. Experience (Essential): Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Flexibility and adaptability in work approach. Strong problem-solving abilities, particularly under pressure. Reliable and detail-oriented work ethic. Results-oriented mindset. Physical fitness for tasks requiring manual labor. Sound decision-making skills during outages. Ability to work a continental shift pattern. Aptitudes: Positive and confident demeanor. Supportive team player and role model within the maintenance team. Professional approach and presentation, ensuring high-quality workmanship at all times.
