Job Description:
We are seeking a Patient Access Representative to handle key front-office duties, ensuring that the patient check-in and check-out process is seamless and efficient. This role includes verifying insurance, entering patient information accurately, and managing payments at the time of service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients in a warm and professional manner upon arrival.
- Apply knowledge of customer service principles to meet departmental expectations.
- Review patient accounts, collect co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurance.
- Collaborate with Business Office staff to address outstanding balances and coordinate with the medical team on insurance coverage issues.
- Verify insurance coverage and calculate payments based on patient benefits.
- Accurately post payments and balance the cash drawer at the end of each day.
- Assist with additional tasks as assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- At least one year of experience in a medical office, registration, or collections.
- Strong reading comprehension and ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Proficient in basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to solve problems and handle various situations using common sense and sound judgment.
- Professionalism, dependability, flexibility, energy, and strong organizational skills are essential.
Additional Details:
This role offers a consistent Monday to Friday, day shift schedule. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced healthcare environment, providing excellent service to both patients and the medical team.
